I both dreaded and looked forward to the remake when he was working on it. I had nightmares for weeks after playing it, and finishing the game was a huge relief. My stomach actually hurt from how tense I was playing the mod.
I'm not the type who uses melee weapons a lot to save up on ammo, so being down to an empty gun and a knife means I was well out of my comfort zone. While my dungeon sense is poor, I have a very ingrained survival instinct in gaming. I have to say that this mod has to be the top scariest game i've ever played, even beating Silent Hill. I've played some good HL mods before such as They Hunger and Heart of Evil so I was looking forward to this one. When it was first announced, there was very little information about it, just a few screenshots and a description.
So for anyone who has the first Half Life on your computer, there is a great horror mod out called Afraid of Monsters.
